MAYOR MILLER'S BROKEN TAX PROMISE
MAYOR MILLER ON TAX INCREASES:

As reported November 2, 2006 by CTV News, during the 2006 election campaign: "David Miller: Promising to keep future property tax hikes at or below the rate of inflation".
On top of the property tax increases, Mayor Miller has added the following new taxes:
Municipal Land Transfer Tax
Motor Vehicle Registration Tax
Water Rate Increase of 9%
Garbage Bin Tax
Recreational Program Taxes

2008 Property tax increase: 3.75%
Rate of inflation: 2.4%
2007 Property tax increase: 3.8%
Toronto's rate of inflation: 1.5%
